Processing technology of precision metal stamping
Time : 2024-03-13 Click count : 1591

Precision metal stamping is a metal processing technology that uses stamping technology for processing. Precision means high processing accuracy, and some small stamping parts can also be processed very well. For example, some car shells are manufactured using metal stamping processing technology, and some stainless steel molds are also manufactured using precision metal stamping processing technology. Some deformed car metal shells can also be repaired through stamping technology. Therefore, this stamping process is a widely used machining technique.

There are many equipment used in precision metal stamping process, such as shearing machine, CNC punching machine/laser, plasma, water jet cutting machine/laminating machine, bending machine, and various auxiliary equipment, such as unwinding machine, straightening machine, deburring machine, spot welding machine, etc.

Usually, the three important steps of precision metal stamping are shearing, stamping/cutting, and folding.

Stamped parts are sometimes used as sheet metal. In general, some metal sheets undergo plastic deformation through manual or mold stamping to form the desired shape and size, and further form more complex parts through welding or minimal mechanical processing, such as chimneys, tin furnaces, and car shells commonly used in households, which are sheet metal parts.

Stamping processing is called sheet metal processing. For example, using sheet metal to make chimneys, iron drums, oil tanks and kettles, ventilation ducts, elbows, sky gardens, funnel-shaped structures, etc., the main processes include cutting, bending trimming, bending forming, welding, riveting, etc., which require a certain amount of geometric knowledge.

Stamped parts are thin metal parts that can be processed through stamping, bending, stretching, and other methods. They are generally defined as parts with constant thickness during the processing. The corresponding parts include castings, forgings, machined parts, etc. For example, the outer iron shell of a car is a sheet metal part, and some stainless steel cabinets are also sheet metal parts.

Modern sheet metal technology includes: filament power winding, laser cutting, heavy-duty processing, metal bonding, metal stretching, plasma cutting, precision welding, rolling forming, metal sheet bending forming, forging, water jet cutting, precision welding, etc.
