Those who are familiar with the hardware industry know that the materials used in stamping are closely related to the stamping process, and their properties directly affect the design, quality, and product life of stamping parts. At the same time, they also affect the organization and production of stamping parts and the balance of stamping production costs. When selecting stamping materials, the first step is to meet the requirements of the parts. Generally speaking, for the main stamping parts on the machine, materials require high strength and stiffness; Some stamped parts on electrical appliances require high conductivity and magnetic permeability. Therefore, different parts require the use of different stamping materials.

Stamping die design is an important link in ensuring the quality of stamped parts, and its importance is particularly prominent in the production of instruments, household appliances, electronics, daily necessities, and other products. Stamping parts have high requirements for process and quality control, and correspondingly, there are strict requirements for mold design. In addition to possessing professional knowledge in mold design, mold designers should also be proficient in sheet metal processing, stamping technology, metal materials, heat treatment, and stamping equipment.

The design of stamping die must adhere to three basic principles, namely safety, progressiveness and economy. It is necessary to comprehensively consider the actual situation of the stamping manufacturer's existing equipment, process level, and processing equipment conditions, design reasonable and economical molds, and ensure the shape and size requirements of stamping parts and patterns.

The designed mold has a simple structure, easy operation, long service life, firm installation of mold components, safe and reliable operation, and low cost, while ensuring the shape and size requirements of stamping parts and patterns. And it is easy to manufacture and maintain.

There are many types of metal stamping molds, and their structures, design methods, and considerations are also different. The molds used for different parts and equipment have different structural characteristics; Molds have different uses and structures. Therefore, mold design must be based on usage requirements.
