Many people know that in the production of precision metal stamping molds, it is necessary to maintain the machine and carefully inspect it to extend the mold life and improve production efficiency. Mainly understand the four maintenance precautions for precision metal stamping continuous molds.
1、 Maintenance of convex and concave molds
1. When disassembling convex and concave molds, pay attention to the original condition of the mold for easy recovery during subsequent mold assembly; If the gasket is filled or moved, the thickness of the gasket should be engraved on the part and recorded.
2. When replacing the convex mold, try to insert the material removal block concave mold as smoothly as possible, and try to insert the gap between it and the concave mold as evenly as possible; When replacing the concave die, check whether the gap between the test insert and the punch is uniform.
3. For the shortening of the convex mold after grinding, it is necessary to add shims to achieve the required length and check whether the effective length of the convex mold is sufficient. Replace the broken convex mold, identify the cause, and check whether the corresponding concave mold has a broken edge and whether the cutting edge needs to be ground.
4. When assembling the convex mold, check if there is sufficient clearance between the convex mold and the fixed block or plate. If there is a pressure block, check if there is any clearance. The assembly die should be placed horizontally, and then a flat iron block should be placed on the surface of the die. A copper rod should be used to lightly tap it into place, and it should not be forcefully knocked in diagonally. The bottom of the die should be chamfered. After installation, check if the concave mold surface is flush with the mold surface.
5. After the assembly of the convex mold, concave mold, and mold core is completed, it is necessary to check the material strip, whether all parts are installed incorrectly or in reverse, whether the concave mold and concave mold cushion block are installed in reverse, whether the feeding hole is blocked, whether the newly replaced parts need to be stolen, whether sufficient stealing is needed, and whether the parts that need to be locked by the mold are locked.
6. Pay attention to confirming the locking of the stripping plate screws. When locking, it should be done from the inside out, with balanced force and cross locking. Do not tighten one screw first and then tighten another screw to avoid tilting the stripping plate, causing the convex mold to break or reducing the accuracy of the mold.
2、 Maintenance of the stripping plate
1. You can use two screwdrivers to balance and pry up the stripping plate, and then use both hands to balance and remove the force. When encountering difficulties in disassembly, check whether the mold is clean, whether all locking screws have been removed, whether the mold is damaged due to jamming, and then take corresponding measures. Blind handling is not allowed.
2. When assembling the stripping plate, first clean the punch and stripping plate, add lubricating oil to the introduction of the punch and guide column, place them steadily, and then press them in place with both hands, repeating several times. If it is too tight, investigate the cause (whether the guide column and guide sleeve are guided properly, whether there is damage to each part, whether the newly replaced punch can pass through the stripping plate smoothly, and whether the position is correct), and then take corresponding measures.
3. If there are pressure blocks on the fixed plate, check if there is enough space on the backing plate for material removal. The material contact surface between the stripping plate and the concave mold may experience indentation during long-term stamping. When the indentation is severe, it can affect the accuracy of material compression and cause abnormal and unstable product dimensions. The stripping insert and stripping plate need to be repaired or re ground.
4. The accuracy of the equal height sleeve should be checked. If the contour is not equal height, the stripping plate will tilt, which will damage its precise guidance and stable spring function, and should be maintained.
3、 Die clearance adjustment
1. The positioning holes of the mold core are worn due to frequent combination of mold cores, resulting in excessive clearance (loosening after assembly) or uneven clearance (positioning deviation), which can lead to poor cross-sectional shape, easy breakage of convex molds, burrs, etc. After punching, appropriate clearance adjustment can be made by checking the condition of the punched section.
2. When the gap is small, there are fewer cross-sections; When the gap is large, there are more cross-sections and larger burrs, and a reasonable gap can be obtained by displacement. After adjustment, appropriate records should be made or marks should be made on the edges of the concave mold for subsequent maintenance operations.
3. In daily production, when the mold is in good condition, attention should be paid to collecting and preserving the original material strip. If the subsequent production is not smooth or the mold changes, it can be used as a reference for mold maintenance.
4. In addition, attention should be paid to checking and maintaining whether the auxiliary systems such as the top material pin are worn, whether they can top the material, and whether the guide pins and bushings are worn.
4、 Inspection of guiding components
1. The clearance between the guide column and guide sleeve, whether there are burn or wear marks, and whether the oil supply status of the mold guide is normal should be checked.
2. The wear and precision damage of guide components will reduce the accuracy of the mold, and all parts of the mold will have problems, which must be properly maintained and replaced regularly. Check the accuracy of the guide components. If the guiding nail wears out, it will lose the accuracy and function of the material belt guiding, and must be replaced. Check the condition of the discharge spring and top spring to see if they have broken or not broken after long-term use. However, they have lost their original strength due to fatigue, so regular maintenance and replacement are necessary to avoid damaging the mold or causing production difficulties.
The above are four maintenance precautions for metal stamping continuous molds. We hope that metal mold operators can not only follow the operating standards, but also carry out daily maintenance of metal molds correctly, saving costs for mold enterprises.
