Precision metal stamping parts are thin sheet metal parts that can be processed through stamping, bending, stretching, and other methods. Generally defined as parts with constant thickness during the machining process. The corresponding parts include castings, forgings, machined parts, etc. For example, the outer iron shell of a car is a sheet metal part, and some stainless steel cabinets are also sheet metal parts.

So far, there is no relatively complete definition for precision metal stamping parts. According to a definition in foreign professional journals, sheet metal can be defined as a comprehensive cold working process for metal sheets (usually less than 6mm), including shearing, punching/cutting/composite, folding, welding, riveting, splicing, forming (such as automotive bodies), etc. Its notable feature is that the same part has the same thickness and can be processed into metal sheets such as steel plates, aluminum plates, and copper plates.

Simply put, precision metal stamping parts are a type of automotive repair technology, which means repairing the deformed parts of the car's metal shell, such as a dent in the body shell, can be restored to its original state through sheet metal.

The basic equipment of a general precision metal stamping factory includes shearing machines, CNC punching machines/lasers, plasma, water jet cutting machines/laminating machines, bending machines, and various auxiliary equipment such as unwinding machines, straightening machines, deburring machines, spot welding machines, etc.

Usually, there are three important steps in precision metal stamping factories: cutting, punching/cutting, and folding.

Sometimes, precision metal stamping parts are also made into sheet metal. In general, some metal sheets can undergo plastic deformation through manual or mold stamping to form the desired shape and size. Further, more complex parts can be formed through welding or minimal mechanical processing, such as chimneys, tin furnaces, car shells, etc., which are commonly used sheet metal parts in households.

Precision metal stamping processing is called sheet metal processing. For example, using sheet metal to make chimneys, iron drums, oil tanks and pots, ventilation ducts, elbows, gardens, funnels, etc. The main processes include cutting, bending and trimming, bending forming, welding, riveting, etc., which require a certain amount of geometric knowledge.

Modern sheet metal technology includes: filament power winding, laser cutting, heavy-duty processing, metal bonding, metal drawing, plasma cutting, precision welding, rolling forming, metal sheet metal bending forming, forging, water jet cutting, precision welding, etc.
